Drake Abshire is making waves in the Lafayette real estate world in more ways than one.
Growing up in Nunez, a small town between Kaplan and Abbeville, Abshire wasn’t initially interested in real estate. Working in the fitness industry, Abshire moved around the country. From Houston to California, Abshire wanted to be a celebrity trainer.
After deciding that lifestyle wasn’t for him, he moved back to Louisiana six years ago and wanted to make a career change.
“I was always really interested in real estate,” Abshire said. “Here (in Lafayette), I saw it as a reset. Coming back to my roots here, I told myself I wanted to give the real estate world a try.”
His first year was back in 2019, and he called that time rough because he was still learning and growing in his new career. He said everything changed for him after hiring a real estate coach.
“I went full force and took the risk and jumped into real estate,” Abshire said. “In my first year, I moved into a top producer.”
A real estate producer can refer to a top-producing real estate agent or the factors contributing to real estate production. From there, Abshire kept growing in his career. But that wasn’t the only thing that he saw growth in.
