LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — Heavy rains overnight have caused localized flooding during the morning commute in Lafayette.
The Lafayette Police Department is reporting that Ambassador Caffery Parkway is impassable from Eraste Landry Road to Kaliste Saloom Road, due to flooding. Also, Camellia Blvd. is closed at Johnston Street.
LPD is urging drivers not to drive across flooded roadways.
LPSS has announced it is closing schools due to flash flooding around some facilities. Staff will stay with students who have already arrived on campus until parents/guardians can pick them up, officials said.
The Lafayette Public Library announced the West Regional Library, at 501 Old Spanish Trail in Scott, will open at noon today due to flooding.
