Outcry over removal of American flags from utility poles could prompt change in city law

More than 100 American flags that hung from utility poles in the Brentwood subdivision came down this week to uproar from residents of the Lafayette neighborhood. Now, City Council Member Liz Hebert, who represents the subdivision, plans to revisit the local law that prohibits hanging such flags from public street lights.
