EDITOR’S NOTE: The Valley Times-News is doing a Q&A with all of the support staff of the year in the Chambers County School System. Today, we are writing about Craig Agee, the 9th and 10th grade History teacher at LaFayette High School. We asked him 20 questions, and we included some of our favorite responses below.
Craig Agee has only been at LaFayett High School for a year, however, his value was immediately recognized by his peers. The 9th and 10th grade history teacher was named LHS teacher of the year.
Agee has been in education for six years, coaching college football before moving into the classroom. Agee is married to Megan Agee, who teaches P.E. at Eastside J.P. Powell. He is the father to four kids, a college grade, two high schoolers and a seventh graders.
What inspired you to become an educator? (Or who?)
“My high school coaches, James Ray and Shannon White.”
Do you lead any school clubs or coach any athletic teams? If so, what do you enjoy about those roles?
“I coach football [and] basketball and I am the strength coach for all sports. I enjoy everything I am involved with. I feel like it’s my purpose.”
