One person injured, pedestrian hiding from gunfire hit by car in Lafayette shooting

One person was shot and a pedestrian hiding from gunfire was hit by a car during an early morning shooting in north Lafayette, authorities said. Lafayette police officers were responding to the 1100 block of East Simcoe Street after reports of someone driving recklessly and requests for crowd control when they heard gunshots at about 2:45 a.m. Thursday, according to a report from the Lafayette Police Department.
