Lafayette Parish schools continue to see a decline in enrollment. See where the movement was.

Lafayette Parish continues to see fewer students enroll in its schools, a trend contributing to shrinking budget revenue and one seen in most other districts across the state. The Lafayette Parish School System had 29,877 students enrolled as of an Oct. 1 count, according to state data. The previous fall, the district had 30,329 students enrolled. That’s a loss of 452 students. In addition to losing students, the district has six schools that are at less than 50% capacity.
