The Lafayette Police Department is investigating a tragic accident that claimed the life of a bicyclist this morning (Jan. 2). According to Lafayette Police Sgt. Robin Green, the crash happened around 8:19 a.m. at the intersection of SE Evangeline Thruway and Bellot Street. According to initial reports, a Ford F-450 truck pulling a trailer struck a female bicyclist. When officers arrived, they found the bicyclist deceased at the scene.
