Herrmann’s Gem Helps Louisiana Cap Doubleheader Sweep of Huskers

LAFAYETTE – Andrew Herrmann, in his first appearance of the season, pitched Louisiana’s first complete game on the mound since 2022 and the Ragin’ Cajuns pounded out a season-high 13 hits in defeating No. 23-ranked Nebraska, 10-2, to complete a doubleheader sweep on Saturday at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park.

In the opener, Blake McGehee and Dylan Theut combined on a four-hitter and Conor Higgs had two hits, including his first homer of the season, as Louisiana earned a 4-1 win.

Louisiana (4-3) will open a five-game week beginning on Tuesday when it travels for the first time this season with a battle against in-state opponent McNeese. The Ragin’ Cajuns will return home on Wednesday (February 26) to host Southeastern Louisiana before heading to the West Coast face UC Irvine in a three-game series…
