A jury convicted a Kaplan man of murder for hiring a contract killer who left two dead in Montegut.
Beaux Cormier was found guilty of one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Jan. 13, 2021, slaying at 103 Montegut St. The trial began Feb. 19 in 32nd Judicial District Court Judge Randal Bethancourt’s Houma courtroom. Jurors deliberated for just over an hour before delivering the guilty verdicts.
