Lady Luck must have been in Louisiana for Mardi Gras parades over the weekend. That’s the only thing we can figure out. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that Monday’s Powerball lottery drawing did produce a big-money winner in the state.
The big win comes as Monday’s Powerball jackpot was estimated to be $233 million for the annuitized jackpot and $106.6 million for those who might choose the lump sum or cash payout for a ticket that matched all the numbers needed to claim the game’s top prize.
The Powerball multi-state lottery has not produced a jackpot winner since the January 18th drawing. At that time a ticket sold in Oregon matched all of the white balls and the Powerball to claim a top prize of $328 million. In the time between that win and last night’s win the Louisiana Lottery confirmed wins in Chauvin and Kenner for $50,000 on February 15th and February 10th respectively.
Here’s how Monday’s drawing the Powerball game played out…
