LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — A fatal house fire has resulted in a man and his dog dying, and another woman being critically injured.
Around midnight, Lafayette fire officials responded to a house fire on the 100 block of South Orange Street. Officials said when they arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the wood-framed residence, and the residence had sustained heavy fire damage.
Officials entered the residence to discover the fire in the kitchen area. They searched the dwelling and found a man and a woman in a bedroom. They were immediately taken to a local hospital…
