Louisiana Woman Booked for Attempted Murder and Aggravated Arson

Officials with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office say that a woman was booked into jail after they say she allegedly set fire to the outside of a camper that had someone inside at the time.

What Are The Circumstances Of The Case?

According to investigators, on the morning of Monday, March 24, fire officials were called out to a camper to deal with a fire.

Officials allege that 43-year-old Nicole Mellon set fire to the outside of the camper after she and the person inside the camper had a fight. She apparently set the fire, according to investigators, hours after the two had been fighting.

After Mellon allegedly set the fire, a neighbor saw what was happening and woke up the person who lived in the camper, and she was able to get out without being injured.
