Abbeville man found shot to death in crashed SUV; female passenger shot in head but alive

ABBEVILLE, La. (NEWS 15) — Abbeville police reported a shooting left one man dead and another injured.

Police Chief Mike Hardy said Tavian Young, 20, of Abbeville, was found dead inside a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe that had crashed into a utility pole in the parking lot of Landry’s Laundromat on Charity Street on Friday, April 18. He added Young had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

According to Chief Hardy, officers later found a second shooting victim on Prairie Avenue who turned out to have been a passenger in the SUV with Young. Chief Hardy said the woman had been shot in the head and was last listed as stable at an area hospital…
