FRANKLIN, La. ( KLFY ) — A New Iberia man was arrested May 1 and charged with various crimes on outstanding warrants from two different agencies, authorities said.
James Austin III, 18, of New Iberia, was arrested May 1 by Franklin Police, and was served a warrant dated Jan. 31. Baldwin Police then served Austin with a second outstanding warrant from August of 2024.
Austin was arrested on charges of gambling in public, two counts of resisting an officer, illegal carrying of a weapon and possessing a gun in a firearm-free zone.
