Lafayette residents and local businesses braced Tuesday morning for the severe weather that is expected to linger into Thursday.
Many business downtown, including Pop’s Poboys, Root Floral Design and Carpe Diem Cafe & Wine Bar, began to gather sandbags early Tuesday. The three businesses, which took on water during heavy rainfall two weeks ago, said they are planning to be open depending on the weather.
Rain is expected to last from Tuesday into Thursday, with parts of the area seeing 3-8 inches of rain over the next three days…
