Central Louisiana Storm Update: Cold Front Brings Low Tornado Risk and Damaging Winds by Tuesday Night

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Central Louisiana faces a marginal risk of severe storms late Tuesday as a cold front sweeps through, bringing the chance of strong winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes into early Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather is in place for parts of central Louisiana, including Alexandria, Opelousas, and Ville Platte, beginning Tuesday evening and continuing overnight. The primary threats include wind gusts over 58 mph and the possibility of quarter-size hail.
