‘Segus Jolivette Act’ signed; impacts resisting arrest charges

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The governor recently signed a new law named in honor of a fallen Lafayette police officer.

HB260 by Rep. Debbie Villio, R-District 79 (Kenner), was signed as Act 169 but has been renamed the ‘Segus Jolivette Act.’ It introduces significant changes to criminal charges in Louisiana.
