Lafayette townhouse fire caused by unattended candle, officials say

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A Lafayette townhouse sustained moderate damage after a candle started a fire in an upstairs bathroom, authorities said.

Lafayette firefighters responded just after 7 p.m. Tuesday to a townhouse fire in the 400 block of Bell Downs Drive. Firefighters entered the dwelling and discovered the fire in an upstairs bathroom. The townhouse sustained moderate fire damage, officials said.
