Sheriff credits new protocols for stopping St. Landry Parish Jail escape by 2 accused killers

In the wake of May’s high-profile jailbreak in New Orleans that raised concerns about jail security across the state, the St. Landry Parish Jail recently highlighted its successful prevention of an escape attempt by two accused murderers. Sheriff Bobby Guidroz gave News 15 an exclusive interview about the security measures that effectively thwarted the escape attempt. Sa’Davion George of Scott and Demarion Levier of Eunice, both 19, are accused of attacking a corrections officer during their escape attempt. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the teenagers faked suicide attempts to be moved to a different location within the jail.
