Summer heat builds in for July 4th holiday

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After a few showers in the morning time, we see dry conditions through much of the day as temperatures climb into the mid 90s. Feels-like temperatures will be around 100 to 105 degrees. A few storms develop in the afternoon, though most of the area won’t see much relief from the heat. Tonight, any rain comes to an end as temperatures hold in the 70s.

July 4th starts with similar weather we’ve been seeing – warm and humid conditions with lots of sunshine. By the afternoon, temperatures will climb back into the mid 90s. High humidity will make it feel like 105 degrees at times. One or two storms will be possible, but most celebrations will remain rain-free through the evening hours.
