LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After a scorching, summer day around Acadiana, storms finally developed to help cool a few areas off. These storms will settle down before 10 p.m. and overnight will remain quiet. Temperatures settle in the upper 70s with passing clouds and high humidity.
Sunday starts out with dry and hot weather, but by lunchtime, storms begin to develop over the eastern areas of Acadiana before moving slowly westward. Temperatures reach the low and mid 90s with a feels-like temperature between 100 and 105 before storms arrive. These storms could produce heavy rainfall with some models showing isolated amounts of two to three inches. This could lead to minor flooding in flood-prone areas.
