Kitchen on Klinton—better known as KOK Wings & Things—is officially bringing its famous wings and one-of-a-kind flavors to Lafayette’s Southside, expanding into a space that long served up chicken in its own heyday: the former Hooters location at 3221 Ambassador Caffery.
The announcement marks another major milestone for the four founders, frat brothers from the Theta Nu chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi who began cooking out of a rent house on Clinton Street near the UL Lafayette campus back in 2016. What started as a side hustle to help pay bills while in school has transformed into one of the most recognizable food brands in the region.
From house parties to headlines
Since opening their first brick-and-mortar location in 2018, the KOK team has continued to expand, adding a food truck, a mall location, a presence at Cajun Field, and even a social bar called The Coop. Over the years, they’ve gone from backyard fryers to serving over 5 million wings and employing more than 60 people, all while giving back over $200,000 to local schools and organizations.
Their story has inspired friends and foodies alike, and now, their next chapter will play out on one of the busiest commercial corridors in Lafayette.
“Best wings in Lafayette are expanding”
While an exact opening date hasn’t been announced, paperwork is signed and KOK says fans can expect the new location to open before the end of 2025.
The brand teased that they’ll continue to roll out food truck service as the restaurant buildout progresses, but promised “new and exciting vibes” with the upcoming space.
