St. Martinville to enforce grass cutting ordinance on nuisance properties

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)- The city of St. Martinville is enforcing an ordinance aimed at cleaning nuisance properties with overgrown grass and unkept yards.

News 10 spoke with St. Martinville Mayor, Jason Willis, who says the long uncut grass not only creates an eyesore for the area, but can also create safety concerns for nearby residents.

“It brings snakes, it brings rats, it brings raccoons, it brings animals,” said Willis. “Nobody wants to live next to a junkyard or high grass yard.”…
