LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The scorching heat in Acadiana is putting a strain on air conditioning units, with call volumes to local companies spiking as temperatures soar. Daily highs in the 90s and triple-digit heat indices are challenging residents to keep cool.
Jack Patterson of Butcher Air Conditioning highlighted the major issue.
“High heat lows on houses. I mean, units are designed for, it’s manufactured and designed to run at certain temps. And when we start getting these super high heat indexes, it plays a factor on the cooling of the house,” Patterson explained…
