Louisiana swamp pop legend Tommy McClain passes away

(NEWS 15) — Louisiana music lovers are mourning the passing of a local legend. Louisiana swamp pop icon Tommy McClain has died. He was 85.

McClain was cherished by fans across Acadiana for his contributions to the Lafayette supergroup Lil’ Band O’ Gold and his earlier work with the Boogie Kings.

His song “Sweet Dreams” reached the top 15 in the 1960s after he appeared on Dick Clark’s show. McClain also penned a hit for Freddy Fender…
