Federal lawsuit over twin beaten by Lafayette Police may be dismissed

A federal excessive force lawsuit filed by the father of teen twins, one who was beaten by Lafayette Police officers while they waited in line outside a bowling alley in 2020, may be dismissed because their attorney was suspended.

Gerald Celestine of Lafayette filed the federal lawsuit in September 2021 on behalf of his twin sons, Jabari and Gerard Celestine, against Lafayette Consolidated Government, the Lafayette Police Department, former Police Chief Scott Morgan and several LPD officers.
