At the time of Christopher Stafford’s death a year ago, the 36-year-old had long been recognized as a phenom in the Cajun and Louisiana folk music scene.
Stafford, a Lafayette native, founded the Cajun-Americana band Feufollet when he was just 11 years old. Over the next 25 years he played constantly, elevating the profile of Acadiana’s regional music with his own band and others’. Stafford was a four-time Grammy nominee, and owned his own studio in Lafayette, Staffland, where he was dedicated to helping local artists produce quality albums on a budget.

The Christopher Stafford Memorial Foundation has announced a new concert series, “Staffland Stages,” to promote Stafford’s ongoing musical impact. On Aug. 22 and 23 the Acadiana Center for the Arts will host “Staffland Stages: The Light & Legacy of Christopher Stafford.” This event will be the first in an annual series in support of the memorial foundation and Staffland Studio, and is titled “Chapter One: The Roots & Branches of Feufollet.”…
