LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After starting the morning with pretty quiet conditions around Acadiana and only a few coastal showers, the big story will once again be the summer heat that builds in fast. Temperatures will likely reach 90 by lunchtime and then low and mid 90s during the afternoon hours. Showers and storms will develop to cool a few locations down, lasting into the evening hours. One or two storms could be strong or severe with gusty winds, hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Some rain could linger into the evening hours before coming to an end overnight where our temperatures settle in the 70s.
Saturday begins much the same as we’ve been seeing with quiet conditions, but storms develop around midday to bring some cooling relief. Highs once again…..
