CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) — A fatal crash in St. Landry Parish has claimed the life of a Church Point driver.
On August 2, shortly after 2 p.m., troopers with Louisiana State Police began investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on LA 358 near its intersection with LA 357. Officials said the crash claimed the life of 38-year-old Alex Chavis of Church Point.
Authorities said an investigation revealed Chavis was driving a 2017 Kia Optima west on LA 358. At the same time, a 2005 Dodge Ram was traveling east. For reasons still under investigation, the Kia crossed the centerline and struck the Dodge in the eastbound travel lane…
