‘Beg-Knows America’ shows Lafayette native traveling the country sharing stories of hope

For the past year, CBS contributor David Begnaud has traveled the country reporting stories of resilience, grit and kindness for his weekly CBS Mornings segment, “Beg-Knows America.”

Begnaud is a Lafayette native and a graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Each Monday, his series “Beg-Knows America” airs in the second hour of CBS Mornings, highlighting stories of people doing extraordinary things — like a double organ donor saving lives, and a blind baker opening a new business.

At 8 a.m. today on CBS Mornings, Begnaud will celebrate the 50th story from “Beg-Knows America” with a follow up to his first report on 11-year-old Quentin Hines Jr. in Charlotte, North Carolina. Hines runs a thriving lawn care business with his parents as employees, and the young man shares stories and experiences that will be familiar to any business owner, no matter their age.

Said Begnaud, “Quentin is a young entrepreneur who lives to mow lawns. When we first featured him, he was just 11 years old with dreams of cutting grass at the Charlotte airport and working for a pro sports team. We made both dreams happen — and then some. For the 50th episode, we check in with Quentin again. He’s still cutting grass, still inspiring people, and recently, he dedicated $1,000 to help pay off his church’s mortgage. He’s also been asked to preach at that church. Watching his journey come full circle — it’s what this series is all about.”…
