Lafayette High School unveils new campus and traffic plan

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette High School is set to open its new campus on Thursday, August 7, with school and district leaders providing detailed traffic flow instructions to ensure a safe start to the school year.

All traffic to Lafayette High School, including parents, students, buses, and faculty, will enter the campus via Marie Antoinette Street from Congress Street. Specific routes have been outlined for buses, parent drop-offs, and student parking to manage the flow effectively.

Buses will enter from Congress onto Marie Antoinette, turn right onto Susan Drive, and then right into the bus lane, exiting onto Foreman Drive. Parents dropping off students will follow a similar route but will turn right on McDonald Street and Foreman Drive, with access to the bus lane after buses leave at 6:45 a.m.

Student drivers are directed to park in the concrete lot behind the school, next to the football stadium, entering through the gate on Marie Antoinette. Right turns are only allowed onto Foreman Drive when leaving the campus, and turning onto Susan Drive from Marie Antoinette is restricted to buses…
