LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The University of Louisiana System settled a federal Title IX lawsuit involving a former student described as an alleged serial rapist.
The case brought national attention to UL and other state schools. Administrators faced accusations of negligence for allowing the student, Daniel Silva, to transfer between schools despite multiple rape allegations.
Silva was never formally charged or convicted of any alleged assaults. The civil case was scheduled for trial this week…
