LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Drier air has settled into the area leading to sunshine through the day today. Dewpoints have dropped into the 60s and that will help take the edge off the humidity. Through the day, temperatures rise quickly and many areas will reach the mid 90s. No rain is expected. Tonight, we will see clear conditions with temperatures falling back into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
In the tropics, two areas are being monitored. The first is Tropical Storm Fernand which will move into open Atlantic waters and not affect any land areas. The second area is a tropical wave approaching the Lesser Antilles.
