Off-duty LPSO employee spots stolen property on the way home from work

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office employee helped solve a crime while off the clock, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office received a report Aug. 23 of a stolen trailer carrying several pieces of lumber taken from the 300 block of Sidney Martin Road in Lafayette.

The property has been returned to its owner after an off-duty Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center Agent located the stolen items on his way home from work, officials said…
