Former Lafayette police officer charged with manslaughter makes first court appearance

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — A former officer with the Lafayette Police Department had his first court appearance after getting arrested for a shooting that left a man dead at a Lafayette hotel.

Kyle Jagneaux, 39, of Lafayette, is charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of Phillip Francis Jr., 44, also of Lafayette. Jagneaux was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
