Mostly dry Labor Day weather

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Drier air is moving into the area behind a weak front that has stalled along the coast. Sunshine will fill the sky Sunday morning, but clouds will move in throughout the day. A shower or storm will be possible between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Temperatures will be near the 90 degree mark. Tonight, temperatures will drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s with a nice breeze at times. Labor Day will see similar conditions with highs in the 90s and a shower or two in the afternoon hours.

In the tropics, we are following a tropical wave exiting the African coast. It has a low chance of development through the next week but that gives us plenty of time to watch it. There are no tropical threats to Acadiana for the foreseeable future.
