MERMENTAU, La. (KLFY) — Residents of Mermentau in Acadia Parish are allegedly facing outrageously high water bills, with some claiming they are being charged for water they did not use.
Debbie Marceaux and Abbrigail Stevens reported receiving water bills for August that were significantly higher than their usual charges. Marceaux’s bill was $565, while Stevens was billed $708, despite their claims of not using the amount of water indicated.
