A local company is hitting new heights as it celebrates a milestone. Golfballs.com, based in Lafayette, is marking 30 years in business and expanding its reach to Canada. Tom Cox, founder of Golfballs.com, began the company with a simple idea in 1995. He combined his passion for golf and computers to sell used golf balls online. He initially juggled a regular job while growing Golfballs.com. The venture evolved from selling used golf balls to offering customizable printed golf balls. “In year one, a whopping $17,000 in sales. So, it was a lot of work, a little bit of revenue, but it was kinda proof of concept,” Cox added. Sales grew to $70,000 in the second year and $200,000 in the third.
