Local manufacturer to invest $8.5M, add 29 jobs to supply First Solar plant

Local manufacturer Noble Plastics will launch an $8.5 million expansion and add 29 jobs to begin supplying products for the First Solar to be built in Iberia Parish.

The Grand Coteau company will make precision-molded plastic components to be used in the connection and energy transfer systems of high-tech solar panels to be made at First Solar that will open later this year, state and local officials announced this morning.

“This partnership highlights the strength and resilience of American manufacturing,” Noble Plastics president Missy Rogers said. “We are proud to contribute to First Solar’s mission to power America to prosperity, and especially proud of the fact that they are manufacturing advanced energy technology in the Acadiana region, supporting local jobs and American supply chains.”…
