Lafayette Christian claims another dramatic win, this time over Carencro

In a battle of undefeated parish rivals, the Lafayette Christian Knights delivered the final blow to edge the Carencro Golden Bears 41-38 in a wild game on Friday night.

“We have a lot of stuff to correct,” LCA coach Matt Standiford said. “Hats off to Carencro. They have a really good squad. I’m so extremely proud of our guys and happy that they are reaping the benefits of all of their hard work.”

The battle for the University Avenue trophy, given to the winning team each season, stays in LCA’s possession after the Knights were able to overcome their mistakes. A touchdown pass from Braylon Walker to Kaden Ledet with less than 30 seconds remaining clinched the victory.
