Lafayette city and parish leaders, legislators and community stakeholders, are exploring ways to strengthen access to behavioral health services.
The Acadiana Crisis Recovery Center would operate as a centralized intervention system, connecting individuals with mental health issues or substance abuse problems with community resources and help. The project has recently entered a formal assessment stage, bringing stakeholders together to identify community needs.
“This conversation in terms of the needs of something like a crisis recovery center has been talk about among various stakeholders in the Lafayette area for quite some time, even before I became involved,” said State Rep.
