LCA endures nightmarish seven-turnover game in road loss to Shaw

MARRERO A ball-hawking defense and an opportunistic running game were too much for Lafayette Christian to overcome as the Knights fell to the Shaw Eagles 31-13 on the road in Marrero.

The active Eagles secondary picked off LCA quarterback Braylon Walker six times and also forced a late fumble by Caiden Bellard to record seven takeaways as Shaw never allowed the Knight’s explosive offense to get into any kind of rhythm.

“Shaw had a great game plan and executed,” LCA coach Matt Standiford said. “That’s a really good team that will go far.”…
