VERMILION PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A traffic stop led to an arrest and a narcotics search which resulted in the the seizure of over 50 grams of drugs and cash, deputies said.
Deputies arrested Jesse Edmond, 38, of New Iberia on Saturday night and charged him for the following:
- Proceeds from Drug Offenses
- Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
- Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
- Driver Must be Licensed
- Vehicle without Required Equipment
- Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Deputies said they conducted a traffic stop on a white Buick at the intersection of LA Hwy 14 and North Road in Erath within 600 feet of Erath Baptist Church after they observed the vehicle without a Motor Vehicle Inspection sticker.
