The weekend started off with some lingering showers, but following that system, we’ll see a noticeable shift in our winds and dry conditions. They are forecast to develop from the North by sunrise and really start to strengthen, potentially topping out between 15 and 20 miles per hour during the afternoon. This stronger breeze will usher in decidedly cooler air for us. We will need to keep an eye on those decorations you might have out, especially if they aren’t tied down properly with these gusty north winds developing!
Looking further into the week, the coolest temperatures we’ll feel will arrive first thing Monday morning. We’re forecasting lows in the upper 40s for our more inland parishes, with areas closer to the coast seeing temperatures in the low to mid-50s.
