Family of Chanterria Albert pleads for justice in 2024 murder

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — In April 2024, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Chanterria Albert was killed in a shooting while off duty, and over a year later, the Opelousas Police Department is still seeking answers.

The shooting occurred on Park Avenue when Chanterria and a male victim were shot inside a vehicle. While the male survived, Chanterria tragically lost her life.

“We’re still actively investigating and getting to every lead we can to try to figure out what has happened in this situation,” said Joe Dupree Anderson of the Opelousas Police Department…
