LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The Lafayette Parish School System is facing a continued decline in student enrollment. New state data reveals that the district has about 1,000 fewer students enrolled compared to the last school year, bringing the total enrollment to just under 29,000.
Superintendent Francis Touchet addressed the ongoing challenge of declining numbers. He noted that the district has lost nearly 3,000 students over the past few years.
