Lafayette nonprofit aids mother, daughter facing homelessness

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)-A local mother and her young daughter in Lafayette faced homelessness after delays in funding left them without a place to live.

The woman, who is also a disabled veteran, had moved out of her apartment at Ile de Cannes in Scott following her 30-day notice. She and her nine-year-old daughter were preparing to move into a new apartment but faced challenges due to delays in receiving funds from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Volunteers of America to secure their new home.
