‘Albineaux’ rejected as UL mascot

A University of Louisiana at Lafayette alum’s dream of introducing a new mascot has been met with resistance. Despite a campaign lasting three years, the university has firmly stated that it will “never” adopt the albino alligator mascot, known as “Albineaux.” Cory St. Ewart, the creator of “Albineaux,” explained that he initiated the concept in response to declining fan enthusiasm at games.
