Monday Mangé: Edible String of Christmas Lights

(NEWS 15) — On this segment of Monday Mangé with The Frosted Apron, Al Hebert and Stacey Dempsey get into the holiday spirit by making their own edible string of Christmas lights!

Ingredients:

  • whole strawberries, remove stems
  • red and green candy wafers, melted
  • clear sugar crystals/sprinkles
  • Rolo candies
  • Optional: coconut oil and green icing

Directions:

Use strawberries that are at room temperature and remove their stems. Melt the green and red candy wafers in seperate microwaveable bowls at 50% power in the microwave until melted. Stir occasionally so it does not burn. Adding a splash of coconut oil helps make the melted wafers smooth. Mix. Dip whole strawberries into the melted wafers using a fork then place on a piece of wax paper. Sprinkle with sugar crystals. Let cool until hardened. Use a little of the melted wafers as glue to stick a Rolo candy on top of each strawberry making them resemble a Christmas bulb/light. Enjoy!…
