Pools down banded goose on memorable hunting trip

Imagine relishing yet another special waterfowl hunt with your aging dad while also getting your hands on a white-fronted goose, also known as a speckle-bellied goose, with a band on one leg from early 2003.

B.J. Pool, 43, experienced both highs on the last day of November near Whiteville in St. Landry Parish. The lifelong Lafayette resident’s emotions already were running high just getting out again with 79-year-old Gene Pool.
